IamMore Day 2018 for K9 Liberty

March 22, 2018

K9 Liberty, at the age of 1, was diagnosed with bi-lateral hip dysplasia with secondary osteoarthritis. She is the only one of her seven litter mates to receive this diagnosis. And in the last seven years of breeding, K9 Liberty is the only canine to receive this diagnosis from her breeder. To overcome this diagnosis, Liberty is in need of two total hip replacements: the first of which has taken place on March 22, and her second surgery hopefully within the next 8 to 12 weeks. This will allow Liberty to recover both hips roughly at the same time helping to reduce recovery time and complications. With her implants Liberty can live a quality life and maintain her training for search and rescue. Both surgeries will require a very restrictive, lengthy recovery process and long term care. Our goal is to provide Liberty with items for a smooth and comfortable recovery, and support for her parents during this process as well. Treats and food will be used for lots of small training activities during her recovery to drain her desire for work. Liberty is quite the fighter and has never given up on any task. She needs our help in getting her back to a state where she can continue her training and get back to doing what she loves!
