FAQs

Extra details about our wedding day and surrounding events.

What are you doing to keep guests safe from COVID-19?

We are closely monitoring all developments (yes, that includes Omnicron) and are taking all precautions recommended by health authorities and NY State to keep everyone healthy and safe during our wedding celebration. As such, for the safety of our loved ones, we are requiring all guests to verify full COVID-19 vaccination. You can send the proof of vaccinations to BenihanaWedding@gmail.com. If you are unable to get fully vaccinated before January 16th, we kindly request that you not attend in person. We will consider setting up a remote viewing option depending on the number of people that cannot attend live.

We are very excited that booster shots are now available for almost anyone who wants one! We strongly encourage everyone to get a booster shot before January 16th. As mentioned, we will be keeping a close eye on the situation and will make changes to guidance as needed. Thank you for your understanding and for helping keep our event as safe as possible for our loved ones!

Are there any local places you’d recommend I visit while I’m in town?

Guests are welcome to come to Cedar Lakes Estate during the day on Saturday to enjoy winter activities like sledding, ice skating, hiking or hot chocolate by the fire. The historic town of Millford is also 20-25 minutes away from Cedar Lakes and offers many activities. For more ideas on things to do, see: https://hotelfauchere.com/activities-attractions/explore-historic-milford/

What should I wear?

As our wedding is taking place upstate during January, anticipate it will be quite chilly. Boots and warm parkas are recommended for daytime activities while formalwear such as long dresses with shawls and suits with jackets are recommended for the wedding celebration. The theme of the welcome drinks is Aprés Ski so have fun with the cozy winter gear! Please see the schedule page for dress code recommendations for each event! (We will have a boot & jacket check available for your convenience.)

Will the ceremony be taking place indoors or outdoors?

Our cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing will all take place indoors. On the chance that we get a beautiful winter day, we may have the ceremony outdoors! Otherwise, this will also be indoors. We will update guests prior, but please plan for the weather accordingly.

When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP to our website no later than December 10, 2021

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Yes, if you are staying at one of our hotel room blocks we will be arranging formal transportation to and from the venue. If you choose to drive yourself, a venue staff member will direct you where to park upon your arrival.

Are kids welcome?

While we do love all of your children, we are requesting to keep the celebration weekend an adult-only environment (with the exception of our flower girls and ring bearers!). Please reach out if you have extenuating circumstances regarding children.

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?
