FAQs

.

Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, we kindly ask that you leave them at home this weekend.

Can I bring a plus one?

If we haven't explicitly invited you and a guest, we'd ask that you please not bring a plus one. Your invitation will make clear whether you and a plus one have been invited, but please feel free to ask us if you have any confusion!

Are you taking any precautions related to Covid?

The safety of our guests is our top priority, and we've been taking Covid extremely seriously. Our plans include the following:

-(NEW): We're asking all guests to please take a rapid antigen test as close to the wedding as possible to ensure you're not inadvertently coming to the event Covid-positive.

-All events will be held either outdoors in the nearby woods/open fields, or in/around the open air (open on all sides) pavilion on the Gather Greene property.

-We are requiring that all guests in attendance be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. "Fully" vaccinated means you have received the maximum dosage of the vaccine currently approved for your demographic. For example, if you are currently eligible for a booster shot, we'd ask that you get a booster prior to our wedding date. We understand and respect that people may have differing perspectives on Covid, but ensuring that everyone attending our wedding is fully vaccinated is one of the factors that helps make us feel comfortable bringing people (particularly those of our guests in higher risk categories) together during these crazy times.

-We ask that you please stay home if you feel at all unwell on our wedding day. We'd love nothing more than to celebrate with each and every one of you, but the last thing we want to do is host an event that ends up getting anyone sick.

-We do not currently have plans to distance guests by household--we are planning on serving dinner family style at tables where guests will be seated next to one another. Given the open air venue, vaccination, and testing requirements, we do not currently plan on asking guests to wear masks. We will be asking our vendors to wear masks. We will be monitoring the situation and may alter this approach if/as the situation evolves.

-We plan on hosting as intimate an event as possible, and expect around 80 guests in attendance. We want to make abundantly clear that we will totally understand, and our feelings will not be hurt, if you don't feel comfortable attending a larger event like a wedding at this time.

How should I plan on getting to the venue for events throughout the weekend?

We will be providing transportation to the venue on Saturday, but not Friday or Sunday. You will either have to drive or take an Uber or taxi to the venue on Friday/Sunday. Details on when/where to catch the shuttle to the venue on Saturday will be provided in welcome bags on Friday, but for ease of convenience:

The shuttle will be available for pick-up at 3:30pm Saturday, August 6 in front of the Columbia County Department of Health (325 Columbia Street, Hudson).

Return shuttles will depart from Gather Greene at 10pm and 11pm.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

There will be parking available on site for all weekend activities, but we will be providing transportation from Hudson to the venue on Saturday.

When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP via our website by June 15.

Are there any local places you’d recommend I visit while I’m in town?

The Hudson Valley is super beautiful and charming and there's a ton to do in the area! A few suggestions:

OUTDOORS/HIKING:

-Art Omi: Over 120 acre sculpture & architecture park (think Storm King for the upper Hudson Valley). 20 minute drive.

-Bash Bish Falls : An easy 1.5 mile hike to a pretty waterfall. 40 minute drive.

-Kaaterskill Falls: Beautiful 2 mile hike to a two-tiered waterfall. Jenny did this hike for her birthday during law school and had a great time! 30 minute drive.

-Ferncliff Forest: Pretty views from a fire tower you can hike to. 30 minute drive.

-Greenport Conservation Area: Seven miles of trail systems on a 736-acre conservation area overlooking the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains. 10 minute drive.

SHOPPING:

-We spent hours walking down Warren Street in downtown Hudson popping in and out of cute shops when we went to visit the venue, and could have spent hours more! SO many cute little stores on this street!

EATING/DRINKING:

-Warren & Vine: a great place to pop in for a glass of wine and cheese/charcuterie board during the afternoon.

-Le Perche: good for breakfast/lunch/dinner, but definitely known for their brunch/baked goods. Nice outdoor seating on the back patio.

-Swoon: farm to table menu at a Hudson staple.

-Breadfolks Bakery: only open on the weekends, Jenny has been dying to try their baked goods which look INCREDIBLE.

-Wylde: super cute coffee shop/vintage store.

-Maker Lounge: more upscale food/drinks. The juice bar in the Maker Hotel is also excellent for an afternoon refreshment.

-REV Coffee: another good place for caffeine.

-Feast & Floret: Italian eatery which also sells everything from local flowers to honey from their very own farm.

-Rivertown Lodge: super cute retro hotel that serves good breakfast/lunch/dinner, with outdoor seating options.

-Half Moon: supposed to be excellent pizza in a casual setting with nice outdoor seating.

-Hudson Brewing Company: exactly what it sounds like! Outdoor seating available to enjoy a nice flight of local beers.

How do I get there/where should I stay?

Check our "Travel" page for more info on how to get to the area and where to stay.

What exactly does "formal attire" mean for women?

Feel free to wear whatever length formal dress you like! There will likely be some walking around gravel/dirt/grass paths around the property, so you will probably be most comfortable in flat or lower heeled shoes.
