This love story is one of (mostly bad) timing—you could call them a modern-day Harry and Sally. Matt and Molly met on the second day of orientation at Washington University in St. Louis. Matt was hosting a “sanctioned” dorm party in Beaumont 208. They immediately connected over their love of the same music and the turkey avocado sandwiches at Bear’s Den. But, it wasn’t meant to be right away. After 2.5 years, they got together for good on Valentine’s Day 2012 (and all their friends and family said, “Finally!”).

Fast-forward through 5 years of long-distance with countless amtrak and bolt bus rides—told y’all this was a story of bad timing—they moved in together in Brooklyn. Matt proposed in Ocean City, Maryland on the beach last summer after a nervous dinner of tacos and orange crushes at The Original Greene Turtle. They were able to keep celebrating with a special backyard party with Molly’s family in the fall.

Little did they know, they would spend way more time than expected in their Brooklyn apartment throughout 2020 and 2021, not to mention 100% of their time together. Now, they are counting down the days to making things official alongside all the people they love most in the world.
