Shannon is a freshman at WWU, while Matt is sitting in class right across the street, a senior at Sehome HS. While both of them were day dreaming at different schools so close to one another, they could have never dreamed of how the future would unfold.

Location: Seattle, WA
Music brings people together, doesn't it? Matt and Shannon first met before a concert in Seattle in 2012. Was it love at first sight? Well, no, not really. But they DID become incredibly close friends over the next year, attending many concerts, parties, and other social gatherings together. Almost a year from the day they met, Shannon confessed her feelings, and it took the dim witted Matt a whole two months to figure out he felt the same. There were no dates, they just became a couple on January 3, 2014.

Year: 2019
Location: Olympia, WA
Shannon's musical career is taking off. She is scheduled to perform to a huge crowd in Olympia. Matt surprised her with a day date to an Oyster farm on Hood Canal before the show. As the couple was leaving the farm, Shannon confesses "I got to be honest, I thought you were going to propose out there," while Matt responded, "Shannon, there weren't any pugs!" (a proposal request). Shannon promptly falls asleep. As they pull up to Olympia, Shannon, still wiping the sleep from her eyes, stumbles upon two pugs tied up overlooking Budd Inlet. Still completely oblivious, Matt gets down on a knee behind her, but can't get a word in as Shannon hyperventilates between sobs. The couple became engaged on June 8, 2019.

Location: Bellingham, WA
We are beyond excited to welcome you to Bellingham to celebrate our wedding. When we were deciding on locations, it quickly became apparent that Bellingham was the only place that made sense. It is a place that made such lasting impressions on who we are that our friends inherently associate the town with us. We are getting married on July 11, 2020 August 28, 2021.
