We got married! On June 12 we were married in a civil ceremony at the courthouse in Bothell, Washington. It was simple and sweet and perfect for us. We were lucky to have immediate family members from Seattle and India there with us.
And now...we want to celebrate with all of you! We are so grateful to you for supporting us throughout all the stages of our life. We hope that you can make it to the celebration in October!
For those who are interested in our "origin story"....
We "met" through a dating app (Bumble). When we first "matched" and started exchanging messages in September of 2019 Sandesh's parents were in town visiting from India. He was spending time with them, so it was a few weeks of messaging back and forth through the app before we actually met in person. Sometimes things fizzle out when you have too much time to chat with a near-stranger before meeting up, but this was the opposite of our experience! The more we texted, the more we wanted to get to know eachother. We finally were able to meet for coffee in early October of 2019. We ended up talking over coffee and then deciding to go for a walk at a nearby park. The time together was easy and fun, so after the walk we went to Sandesh's apartment where he made chai for us and we played music together. Looking back at this first date, it is interesting to see how many of the things we shared on our first date continue to be important to this day. And maybe the ease with which we spent 8 hours together on our first date was a sign that we might end up choosing to spend our lives together.
