Jared and Sophie "met" as toddlers at their preschool in 1997. After leaving preschool, Jared and Sophie went their separate ways through elementary school and high school. Throughout the years, both of them would hear each other's names dropped through Jewish geography, but did not reconnect until they were in college. In July of 2013, they happened to be at a barbecue where they recognized one another and started talking. They quickly added each other on Facebook and went on their way; not to speak or see each other for a few more years. In December 2015, while out on a Saturday night in Pearl River, NY, Sophie recognized Jared and went to go talk to him. They talked, exchanged phone numbers, and had their first official date on January 1, 2016. After 3 years of dating, Jared proposed at the restaurant where they had their first dinner date!
