July 9, 2017 was a bright, sunny Sunday afternoon in the Pacific Northwest (PNW). Jessica was running errands in Vancouver, WA to prepare for her assignment in Portland, OR Monday morning. I am a terrestial radio junkie and the rock station in Portland kept advertising 'Heavy Metal Brewing' for a rocking great pizza and beer, stop on by! Everyone likes pizza, a beer and Heavy Metal music, right? I need to find this place!!

Heavy Metal Brewing sits at the end of a small strip mall in the heart of suburbia Vancouver and as I pull into the large lot there were only two cars, a 2016 Billet Silver Metallic Dodge Challenger RT and a 2015 Sublime Green Challenger Scat Pack backed in and flanking the front doors to the bar. My thoughts? 'This is going to be epic, I hope they are open...'

The glass doors open and Quiet Riot "We're not going to take it" is playing through the surround sound as well as their MTV classic video is screaming out from the multiple flat screens, the polished pine wood-grained walls are covered in band paraphernalia, concert posters and swag, the entire back wall is lined with 8' high refrigerator coolers displaying hundreds of craft beers, wines and ciders for purchase, picnic and hi-top tables are scattered in front of a small stage for local acts to pop in...the song changes to A/C D/C " You Shook Me all Night Long"...the skulls, all the skulls everywhere in their decorations and an emblem that matches Iron Maiden's Eddie drapes posters advertising their craft beers on tap...Jess's paradise, I couldn't stop smiling!

There are four humans in the entire establishment, three at the 20' bar and the bar-tender. I pick the beer taster flight (which comes in an iron forged server shaped like little guitars - god the details are so perfect!) and a small pizza. My three compadres at the bar top that afternoon were Riyan and his parents stopping in from a local car run that had just finished up...the rest is history!
