Janelle: In late 2018, I rage quit my job--- it led to some uneasy circumstances but I started collecting tickets at the door at the Improv Shop to pay for my improv classes. One night, an interesting figure caught my attention. He was trying to get into the show without a ticket or performer ID--the nerve! But he was performing and someone vouched for him. I definitely thought he was cute and had a unique voice--- but I thought he was married because I mistook which finger he had a ring on. And then he performed in one of the most berserk improv sets I have ever seen and he caught my attention--- "too bad" I mused to myself.

Alex: In late 2018, a stranger rage quit her job--- it led to some uneasy circamstances but she started collecting tickets at the door where I DO IMPROV. This person was unlike your run of the mill yokel of the comedy scene, so I suppose you could say we were cut from the same cloth. I asked my friends about this mysterious, quirky, cute, new person in the scene, simply wanting to know more (with a hint that I might like her in that special way.) My friends, instead, took to see that this girl knew that "someone" wants to ask her out. So she reached out, and wasn't scared off by what she saw... Quite the opposite. The rest... is history.

Janelle: Yes, so I asked Alex out. And he did not know I asked him out-- so I took a potentially awkward step and told him by the end of the night my intentions for him. And he valued the direct communication--- he earned lots of points for that.

Alex: I really dug Janelle and decided to test the waters by inviting her to a Rob Thomas'/Santana tribute band. After jamming to the grammy award winning song "Smooth" 26 times in a row, I saw that she was not only super deep but could get down to the music. I wanted to kiss her, but I waited til the next date.

Janelle: I was super bummed he did not kiss me. Anyway, we kept hanging out for the next 3 years.

Alex: ...And hopefully for the next 30 and beyond
