What can I do over the break?
Lots of options--- chill out and rest up at home, your hotel or an airbnb
- Have outside time at Missouri Botanical Gardens or Tower Grove Park (the reception venue is in Tower Grove Park)
We have a bocce ball set someone can borrow if they want to play in the park
Places within walking distance to the church: SweetArt (lunch, coffee, treats), Ices Plain and Fancy (ice cream), Wild Olive Provisions (wine, cheese, charcuterie) are all within 1-2 blocks from the church
Farther walks but same neighborhood: Gallery Pub (drinks and pizza), Five Aces BBQ, Bailey's Range (burgers), Fiddlehead Fern Cafe (coffee, food, drinks), Sasha's on Shaw (wine bar)
Very closeby but across the park: The Royale (drinks and food), Navin's BBQ (Janelle's favorite BBQ in St. Louis), The Vine (mediterrean food), Pizza Head (very yummy NY pizza), Steve's Hot Dogs (one of Alex's favorites), Terror Tacos (Vegan tacos that could convince me to eat vegan they're so good), Mokabees (cafe), Gelateria (coffee and gelato), Road Crew Coffee (Janelle's preferred tower grove area coffee shop)
A 5-10 minute drive from the venue:
The Foundry- a food hall with MANY different vendors
The Armory- food, drink, games, lots of recreational activities and arcade games
BarK-- a lovely place to relax, eat, drink, and play with other folks' dogs
Pieces- A Board Game bar
City Muesum-- a living art exhibit and indoor playground, a weird and wonderful place that Jon Hamm recommended to Neil Gaimann
Wow, St. Louis sounds pretty dope! What else can I do while I am here besides the Arch?
The Improv Shop (where Alex and I met!)They have shows on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Tower Grove Farmer's Market-- swing by in the morning before the wedding
Puttshack- an adult putt putt in the Foundry
Arkadin Cinema- a micro cinema that plays mainly cult or arthouse films
The Heavy Anchor- a divey bar next to Arkadin that hosts concerts, comedy shows and karaoke nights
Alamo Cinema Drafthouse- a cinema with comfy chairs, cocktails and wait service
St. Louis Union Station-- has the St. Louis Acquarium, a ferris wheel, outdoor putt putt, a ropes course, etc--- fair warning everything is separate admissions so it gets pricey quick
"If you want to be ""very St. Louis,"" go to Imo's for St. Louis style pizza and toasted ravs and then to Ted Drewes for frozen custard (Janelle does not like any of this, but you can be your own judge.)"
