#PievacWedding2021
Bryan and Camila met in highschool through mutual friends and imediately hit it off. After seeing a bunch of movies and soccer games together, Bryan asked Camila to be his girlfriend September 14th, 2013. After 7 amazing years together, we got engaged at El Matador beach the morning of August 14th, 2020.
We chose Convict Lake as our wedding spot because we have so much history here! Not just with each other, but with my family as well. When Bryan and I first got together almost 8 years ago, I knew I wanted him to experience the same joys I have had here and share beautiful memories together. The first year he came up to Convict in 2014, we canoed across the lake to the inlet at the other end to fish at the rivermouth. A few hours later a huge storm was coming in over the mountain, brought on by a smoke cloud coming from a large wildfire in Yosemite 70 miles away. It descended upon us so fast we barely had time to pack up our gear and get in the canoes. We were halfway across the lake when we could see a wall of heavy rain headed our way from behind. The raindrops were so big and mixed with ash, stinging our eyes and making our vision blurry. No more than 30 seconds later we were in the middle of a lightning storm! The lightning was so close and the thunder booming right above us; it sounded like the mountains were being cracked in half! The second lightningstrike made land just a few yards away from the shoreline near us. And mind you WE WERE IN A METAL CANOE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LAKE. We have never paddled so fast in our LIVES. Nevertheless, we survived. Laughing with rain soaking our clothes and running down our faces, or were those tears? We couldn't tell at that point. This picture was taken right after we ran to the car for safety!
