Emerson and Jonathan met their sophomore year of college while playing volleyball at NC State University. They got closer as friends over the years, and that's exactly how their relationship stayed - just friends. By their last year at State, they were hanging out regularly, running errands together, cooking meals together (Emerson did most of it, though), having multiple movie nights a week, and even helping with chores at each other's apartments. It was not until the COVID-19 initial quarantine that they realized their relationship was meant for more than friendship.
After dating long distance (Emerson's job in CA to Jonathan's job in NH), Jonathan knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Emerson. He proposed to her at the Boston Seaport on December 6th, 2020, and after Emerson recovered from her surprise - she said YES!
Nowadays, you can find them spending time together watching Grey's Anatomy, cooking, playing volleyball, working out together, researching aspects of their future dream home, or exploring either in Raleigh, New Hampshire, or California (remote jobs do have their perks...).
They're so excited to start the next phase of their lives together and can't wait to celebrate with you in December!
