WHAT ARE YOUR COVID-19 SAFETY PROCEDURES?

Some of our COVID safety procedures for the wedding day:

- Everything is held outside & on private property.
- There will be under 100 in person guests (probably more like 75 or less).
- Upon arrival to the venue, temperatures will be taken of every guest before entry into the venue.
- Masks will be welcomed and encouraged.
- There will be standing room for those who desire to practice social distancing during the ceremony and reception.
- ALL Food will come pre-packaged and handled/distributed only by a small team of people wearing masks and gloves.
- Hand sanitizer will be distributed and surfaces will be regularly disinfected.
- Dancing will be optional and there will be space for social distance dancing on the lawn.
- Very few people will be traveling from out of town and if so, we will respectfully ask them to social distance with the Southern California crew.
- ANYONE feeling ANY sickness the 10-14 DAYS leading up to the wedding will be asked to watch via livestream.
- This is a zero-pressure invite where guests don't need to feel obliged to attend. IF YOU FEEL AT ALL UNCOMFORTABLE GATHERING PLEASE WATCH VIA LIVESTREAM!
- If you do decide to attend in person, we are assuming you have thought through the risks involved in gathering and are making an informed and intentional decision! We love you and pray you stay safe and healthy during this time.

What should I do if i'm uncomfortable gathering?

There are two options:

THE FIRST - Feel free to come to JUST the ceremony and social distance! There will be standing room on the top level of the terraced garden where you will be able to enjoy the ceremony from. The reception will be a bit harder to social distance if you sit at the arranged tables and chairs, but still possible. Feel free to move your chair from the row of tables and eat your food on the lawn. Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy sitting away from the crowds!

THE SECOND -Feel free to join the virtual wedding guest squad and watch via livestream!

Should I wear a mask?

The simple answer is....sometimes. Basically, in line with current California COVID restrictions, we are asking that our guests wear a mask unless seated or eating/drinking. This means, get your bedazzled mask ready and show up looking pandemic wedding CHIC! Upon arrival we ask that you keep your mask on until seated at your socially distanced location. Then, keep your mask ready for bathroom trips, cocktail hour (unless eating/drinking), and socially distanced dancing!

Masks are not REQUIRED, but we do strongly recommend guests wearing them while standing and moving around, in order to mitigate any risk involved with gathering at this time. Please use discretion and discernment in this category.

so......Is this gathering legal?

Short answer is YES. We have spent WEEKS and MONTHS researching whether or not this gathering will be legal under California state law. We have also been following along with all of the new information coming out about COVID spikes. According to law, because our gathering is religious by nature, on private property, and outdoors, those three qualifications make it legal. We will also be putting into place many different safety practices you can read about in the questions above.

Can I bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 our guest list has to be extremely limited. So unless personally invited, we are not able to have plus-one's attend at this time.

Are kids welcome?

Unless specified, we will not be able to accommodate children of those invited due to COVID-19.

Will the ceremony be taking place indoors or outdoors?

In order to follow California safety guidelines, every part of the wedding will take place outside.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

There is free street parking outside of the house that will be hosting the event.

Will there be dancing?

Short answer is YES! Dancing will be happening, but is optional. We Don't want anyone to feel pressure to dance if you are uncomfortable due to COVID-19. There will also be room for social distancing dancing!

Are there any local places you’d recommend I visit while I’m in town?

EVERYWHERE THAT'S OPEN! IT'S ORANGE COUNTY!

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Yes, we would love for you to document the event and use the hashtag #inMessicknessandinhealth! We just ask that you do so respectfully (silence cell phones, don't lean into the isle for that *perfect* shot, etc.) We will have a professional wedding photographer there to capture every moment!
