Friends and Family,
We are elated that we will get the chance to finally celebrate with you all this September!
Just to set expectations, all guests must be fully vaccinated outside of the two children that were originally included in our bridal party. No masks will be required, however, if that makes you feel most comfortable we definitely encourage you to do what suits you best. Additionally, this is an adult-only affair with the exception of the two aforementioned youngsters.
Please let us know if you have any questions, which need not be limited to our wedding plans. Thank you for your love, support, patience, and understanding as we’ve worked to navigate this heavy year. We can't wait to hug you all and dance without distance!
All our love,
DeAnne & Emily
In early December of 2016, for no reason other than their mutual good looks, charm, and interest in women, Rebecca Kuznick thought it was a good idea to set up her sister and one of her closest friends from college. She then proceeded to steal DeAnne's phone and text Emily something awkward and embarrassing on DeAnne's behalf, forcing DeAnne to redeem herself and continue a conversation that has never stopped.
After a few days of texting nonstop, we scheduled our first date for December 6th at The Roost in the East Village. Waiting inside to avoid the rain, DeAnne was, for once in her life, on time (and filled with butterflies). Emily failed to show the same out-of-the-norm punctuality and showed up 10 minutes late. DeAnne says that Emily strongly resembled a penguin as she waddled inside, drenched, and wearing all black. Apparently that is a compliment, because after that first date, dates two and three and four etc. followed in quick succession, and within a month we were ringing in a new year together in Australia. After ten days of travel mishaps, laughter, and endless conversation, we knew that we had something special and that our relationship was beginning to look and feel a lot like love.
Two and a half years later, which time included a six-month gig on a cruise ship based out of China, a move to Brooklyn, one national tour, hundreds of hours on FaceTime, many more trips both domestic and abroad, and one conversion to veganism, Emily conned DeAnne into thinking she had an audition, decked out the studio, and proposed (much to DeAnne's surprise, who thought she was beating Emily to the proposal punch). Two weeks later, DeAnne took Emily on a romantic roadtrip down the coast of California and surprised Emily with a lavish glamping getaway and a proposal in Big Sur. We both, obviously, said yes. Fun fact: the rings were purchased a day apart!
We can't wait to add this next chapter to the story!
