This airport is on the southeast outskirts of the Phoenix Metro -- much further if you are driving or paying for a shuttle/Uber/Lyft. However, cheaper airlines like Allegiant fly into this airport, which can make the distance worthwhile.

If you are staying downtown, or anywhere close to a Phoenix Light Rail stop, this can be a great way to travel around town (though the coverage is still fairly limited). Also, the Phoenix Art Museum is conveniently located just north of the McDowell/Central Ave stop.
